Dear Bud and Jeremy .

Wanted to thank you for the memorable fishing trip my son and I had at Tip Top Lodge July 4th weekend 2010. It was an incredible bonding experience for the two of us and one that will provide memories for a life time. My son is an enthusiastic angler who gets out on the rivers and lakes of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin when ever he can. I wanted to provide him with the “Ultimate Fishing Experience in Northern Canada.” The trip did not disappoint. I knew we were destined for a great week of fishing when we floated to the dock in the plane and were not only greeted by the staff, which was a nice personal touch, but also several sizable Smallmouth Bass. The hook was set so to speak and wide-eyed and very excited my son wanted to grab a rod before we had even unpacked.

From there it was non-stop fishing fireworks. With the excellent guide, we never spent more than about 30 minutes without a good size fish on the line in the three days we were there. The highlight undoubtedly was my 52 inch son catching a 40 inch Northern Pike which is his biggest fish so far. He followed that up with a 35 inch Northern 2 hours later.

I will remember our night fishing experience where we couldn’t keep the Walleye off our hooks, the peace and serenity of the unspoiled Canadian Wilderness, fishing in water so clean we could watch the fish follow our hooks in 18 feet of water, watching with amazement at the Bass fly out of the lake after hitting our top water lures, jigging for Lake Trout in deep water and the shore lunch ….a fish meal doesn’t get any fresher or tastier than that!

Appreciated that everybody from the pilot who flew us in to all the staff at the camp did everything they could to ensure that we were satisfied and enjoyed our stay.

Thanks again for an amazing experience and we are looking at the calendar already for next year.

Gordon and Brandon Weidle

This very special wilderness vacation experience includes crossing Quetico Park twice!! Paddle across the Quetico to the U.S. border, and fly back to Atikokan by floatplane; or fly south and paddle home. One time by canoe and once in a floatplane! Departures are every Sunday from June to late August and are 7 nights/8 days to give you plenty of time to fish and explore the remote interior. We offer two versions of this package:

Option ‘A’ – Partial outfitting package includes Kevlar Canoe rental for 8 days: Sunday -Sunday, all Quetico park permit fees, map routing and review, floatplane flights to or from King Point/Basswood Lake, and ground shuttle transportation to or from Nym or Stanton Bay, parking, and showers after your trip. You supply your own food and camping gear.

$535 per Person

Option ‘B’ – Complete Elite Outfitting includes Kevlar Canoes and all camping equipment and custom food packing for 8 days; Sunday – Sunday, all Quetico Permit fees, map routing, floatplane flights to or from King Point and ground shuttle to or from Nym or Stanton Bay, parking and showers.

$985 per Person

Terms and conditions: Optional fishing license, taxes, and gratuities are extras – minimum of 2 persons for these special rates. Departures are every Sunday in June, July and August; floatplanes and van shuttles will depart at noon, so we suggest you arrive in Atikokan on Saturday afternoon to allow time for map and route briefing, permits/licenses and outfitting review. A non-refundable deposit of $200/person must accompany your partial or complete Elite outfitting reservation and be certain to specify this ‘King of Quetico’ package.

Itinerary and details: I will review your maps with specific suggestions on best campsites, fishing holes, waterfalls, pictograph sites and other points of interest along the way. You may develop your own route itinerary or consider these excellent options.

Paddle In/Fly Out

#1. Pickerel Lake/Stanton Bay – Dore – Chatterton – Shelley – Sark – Kahshahpiwi – Side or McNiece – Isabella or Point Lake to King Point (totals 60 miles/21 portages)

#2. Pickerel Lake/Stanton Bay – Dore – Chatterton – Shelley – Kawnipi – Murdoch/Keewatin – Agnes – Silence – Shade – Isabella/North Bay to King Point (totals 64 miles/20 portages)

If you Fly In/Paddle Out just reverse the itinerary. Both routes include beautiful waterfalls, spectacular scenery, and great fishing opportunities. Average paddlers can do these distances in 6 days which allows plenty of time to enjoy the trip and have one layover/2 night campsite.

Or stretch the route by starting/ending at Nym Lake access and include the Cutty Creek chain. Be prepared to either Paddle In/Fly Out, or Fly In/Paddle Out.
